US Economy Adds 431K Jobs In March, Bringing Unemployment Down to 3.6 Percent

Propelled by resilient consumer spending and historically strong demand for workers, the U.S. economy remained strong in the month of March, adding 431,000 jobs and bringing the unemployment rate down to 3.6 percent, according to data released Friday by the Labor Department.

The Department also revised the January and February job gains up by a combined 95,000, bringing the total of jobs added by the U.S. economy in 2022 up to 1,685,000 million.
