Former President Donald Trump has launched a brazen new merchandise line: $100,000 bejeweled watches. Available on gettrumpwatches.com, the “Trump Victory Tourbillon” is touted as a luxury collectible, while cheaper alternatives, like the “Fight Fight Fight” watch, start at $499. Despite the glitzy branding, the site reveals that Trump has no direct involvement; the products are marketed under a paid license by TheBestWatchesonEarth LLC.
“Join President Trump’s Watch Community” claims the site, promoting a false sense of exclusivity. “Trump Watches are intended as collectible items for individual enjoyment only, not for investment purposes,” the site states before it adds: “These watches are not political and have nothing to do with any political campaign.”
Trump’s own words on Truth Social paint this venture as a must-have Christmas gift, but many see it as yet another exploitative scheme to cash in on his supporters.
“The Official Trump Watch Collection is here, and these Watches are truly special — You’re going to love them,” Trump wrote on Thursday morning. “Would make a great Christmas Gift. Don’t wait, they will go fast. GET YOUR TRUMP WATCH RIGHT NOW!”
Notably, the promotional video showcasing the watches includes a disclaimer stating: “Images of President Trump’s watch are for illustrative purposes only and do not reflect the exact final product.” So, buyers should be aware that they might not receive what they expect when making their purchase.
Just days before, Trump pushed commemorative coins and has previously introduced a bizarre assortment of products, including golden sneakers and Trump-themed Bibles.
Critics are quick to mock Trump’s latest cash grab endeavor.
Republicans Against Trump shared a clip of Marco Rubio suggesting that ” “If he hadn’t inherited $200 million, you know where Donald Trump would be right now? Selling watches in Manhattan.”
Media commentator Mike Sington wrote: “The grift never ends with Trump. Now he’s selling watches to his MAGA fans. Get this, they’re priced from $499 to $100,000, and look like crap. Another total rip-off.”
Others on social media have lambasted him as the “Grifter King” peddling overpriced junk.
One user calculated that if Trump sells out his limited edition watches, he could rake in a staggering $14.7 million, questioning the legality of such a blatant con.
As the absurdity continues, one thing is clear: the grift never stops with Trump. Watch the clip below:
