A Nevada Republican who failed to secure Donald Trump’s endorsement has accused the former president and convicted felon of accepting bribes for political endorsements, according to a new report.
Dr. Jeff Gunter, a Senatorial candidate in the upcoming Republican primary, unleashed a tirade after Trump endorsed his opponent, Sam Brown. Gunter claims he possesses concrete evidence that Trump was bribed, making these allegations public on social media and in an interview with the New York Times.
“Sadly, the suspicions many of us have had about ‘endorsements’ are being confirmed,” Gunter announced on X Monday, stirring a storm of controversy.
Gunter, who previously served as Trump’s ambassador to Iceland, asserts that Trump was caught between “fearless MAGA warriors” and the National Republican Senate Committee (NRSC), which he alleges bribed Trump with a “big check” from “the swamp” to endorse Brown.

This accusation came in response to Trump’s late-night endorsement on Truth Social. However, NRSC spokesperson Mike Berg dismissed Gunter’s claims, telling the Times, “Jeff Gunter has become totally unglued and is making false, defamatory accusations against the NRSC and President Trump’s team.”
Trump’s campaign was equally dismissive. In a heated exchange on X, Chris LaCivita, Trump’s senior adviser, bluntly told Gunter, “You have a habit of making up c—. President Trump makes his own decisions and this is another example of him choosing wisely.”
When pressed by the Times for evidence of the alleged bribe, Gunter’s campaign initially teased, “stay tuned,” but then went silent.
This explosive story emerged as Gunter and Brown, an Army Veteran, faced off in a heated primary among Republicans vying to challenge Democrat Sen. Jacky Rosen in November. Despite Gunter’s service in the Trump administration, polls indicate Brown is leading the race.
