White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles has been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer, President Donald Trump announced Monday.
Trump revealed the news in a post on his social media platform Truth Social, saying Wiles had decided to begin treatment immediately rather than delay.
“Susie Wiles has been diagnosed with early stage breast cancer and has decided to take on this challenge, IMMEDIATELY, as opposed to waiting,” Trump wrote.
Despite the diagnosis, the president said Wiles plans to continue working while undergoing treatment.
“She has a fantastic medical team, and her prognosis is excellent!” Trump added. “During the treatment period, she will be spending virtually full time at the White House, which makes me, as President, very happy.”
Trump also praised Wiles’ dedication to her job, describing her willingness to keep working through treatment as a sign of her commitment.
“Her Strength and her Commitment to continue doing the job she loves, and does so well, while undergoing treatment, tells you everything you need to know about her,” he wrote.

Wiles later confirmed the diagnosis in a statement to The New York Times, noting that breast cancer affects millions of women across the United States.
“Nearly one in eight women in the United States will face this diagnosis,” Wiles said. “Every day, these women continue to raise their families, go to work and serve their communities with strength and determination. I now join their ranks.”
She added that doctors have given her an encouraging outlook and thanked the president for his support as she begins treatment.
“I am also deeply thankful for the support and encouragement of President Trump as I undergo treatment and continue serving in my current role,” Wiles said.
Shortly after the announcement, Wiles appeared alongside Trump during remarks to reporters ahead of a meeting involving the board of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
Trump described Wiles as one of his closest and most trusted advisers and expressed confidence that she would recover quickly.
“She will soon be better than ever!” Trump wrote. “Melania and I are with her in every way.”
Wiles has long been a key figure in Trump’s political operation. She previously served as co-campaign manager during Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign, playing a central role in his return to the White House.
Her decision to continue working during treatment signals she intends to remain a major force inside the administration as she undergoes care.
