President Donald Trump sent a clear and alarming message Monday night: “Immediately evacuate Tehran.” He made the statement on his social media platform, Truth Social, sparking concern as the crisis in Iran rapidly worsens.
“Iran should have signed the “deal” I told them to sign. What a shame, and waste of human life. Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON,” Trump declared. “I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!”
The warning comes as reports out of Iran describe explosions and active air defenses in the capital city.
The White House confirmed earlier that Trump will cut his trip to the G7 summit short and return to Washington due to what Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt called “important matters.” His decision
Trump has repeatedly claimed he doesn’t want the U.S. military dragged into a war, but tension is boiling over. In just under a week, large parts of Iran’s military leadership, nuclear sites, and key scientists have been reportedly wiped out. Iranian media has confirmed that air defenses were activated in Tehran, with heavy blasts rocking parts of the city.
Despite denying U.S. involvement in the strikes, Trump admitted last Friday that he knew in advance what was coming.
“We knew everything, and I tried to save Iran from humiliation and death. I tried to save them very hard because I would have loved to have seen a deal worked out,” Trump said.
Senator Lindsey Graham backed Trump’s actions on social media, writing, “No one can say that President @realDonaldTrump has not tried to seek peace regarding Ukraine-Russia and Israel-Iran. He has gone the extra mile and I appreciate that.”
Still, Trump is refusing to join other world leaders in calling for calm. On Monday, he declined to sign a G7 draft statement urging de-escalation in the Israel-Iran conflict.
With missiles flying and diplomatic channels collapsing, Trump’s warning to Tehran’s civilians leaves no room for doubt: the Middle East is on the brink of all-out war — which could ignite a global conflict.
