Donald Trump spent Super Bowl Sunday doing what he does best: rage-posting.
Minutes after Bad Bunny wrapped his halftime performance — a set centered on love, unity, and Puerto Rican pride — the president took to Truth Social to unload a rambling, aggrieved tirade declaring the show “absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER!”
Trump didn’t bother hiding what really set him off. Bad Bunny sang in Spanish.
“It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence,” Trump fumed. “Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World.”
Yes — the sitting president of the United States spent Super Bowl night complaining that a global Latin superstar dared to perform in Spanish.
Trump went on to label the halftime show a “slap in the face” to the country, insisting it failed to reflect the “new standards and records” he claimed America is setting under his leadership. As usual, the performance review quickly veered into self-congratulation, grievance, and culture-war scolding — all delivered in the familiar cadence of an online meltdown.
“There is nothing inspirational about this mess of a Halftime Show,” Trump added, predicting — without irony — that it would receive praise from the “Fake News Media, because they haven’t got a clue of what is going on in the REAL WORLD.”
He even managed to tack on an unrelated complaint, demanding that the NFL “immediately replace its ridiculous new Kickoff Rule,” because no Trump rant is complete without at least one non sequitur.

Despite his fury, Trump apparently didn’t fully join the MAGA boycott of the performance. While some of his supporters claimed they were turning off the halftime show in solidarity, the president watched closely enough to provide a detailed critique — suggesting he was glued to the screen while stewing.
The meltdown wasn’t entirely spontaneous. Trump had already trashed the NFL’s decision to book Bad Bunny in an interview with the *New York Post* last month, calling the choice “terrible.” On Sunday, his supporters promoted an “All-American Halftime Show” hosted by Turning Point USA — featuring Kid Rock, who reportedly lip-synced his way through a conservative counter-programming event.
Meanwhile, back in reality, Bad Bunny used the world’s biggest stage to promote love, less hate, and pride in his Puerto Rican roots. Surprise appearances by Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin underscored the inclusive tone — a sharp contrast to the president’s tantrum about language, dancing, and cultural change.
For most viewers, it was a halftime performance.
For Trump, it was just another late-night social media outburst — heavy on grievance, light on self-awareness, and utterly detached from the reality that millions of Americans enjoyed the show.
