Donald Trump spent the weekend in full meltdown mode, raging at Republicans who aren’t falling in line with his latest attempt to tighten his grip on political power.
The president jumped onto Truth Social to blast GOP lawmakers in Indiana who might refuse to back his push to redraw the state’s congressional map—a change designed to hand Republicans two more guaranteed seats. On Friday, he was still celebrating the Indiana House, posting, “Congratulations to Indiana’s tremendous Republican State Representatives… who just overwhelmingly voted to pass their new, much fairer, and improved, Congressional Map… this new Map would give the incredible people of Indiana the opportunity to elect TWO additional Republicans in the 2026 Midterm Elections.”
But by Saturday, Trump had pivoted from praise to pressure.
“The Indiana Senate must now pass this Map, AS IS, and get it to Governor Mike Braun’s desk, ASAP, to deliver a gigantic Victory for Republicans in the ‘Hoosier State,’ and across the Country,” he wrote, before singling out nine GOP senators he believes may stand in his way: Blake Doriot, Brett Clark, Brian Buchanan, Dan Dernulc, Ed Charbonneau, Greg Goode, Jim Buck, Rick Niemeyer, and Ryan Mishler.
“Let your voice be heard loud and clear in support of these Senators doing the right thing. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
Then came day two of his pressure campaign—more shouting, more threats, and zero subtlety. Trump went back after the Indiana Senate, venting: “Why would a REAL Republican vote against this when the Dems have been doing it for years???”
And, as usual, he ended with a threat aimed at anyone who dares break ranks:
“If they stupidly say no, vote them out of Office – They are not worthy – And I will be there to help! Thank you Indiana!”
