President Donald Trump launched a wild attack on Rosie O’Donnell Saturday morning, threatening to strip her of her U.S. citizenship and branding her a “Threat to Humanity.”
“Because of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”
There is no legal way to revoke someone’s citizenship just for criticizing a politician. But Trump has been targeting O’Donnell for years, and her recent comments about possibly moving to Ireland over Trump seem to have reignited the feud.
This wasn’t the only unhinged moment from Trump over the weekend.
On Friday night, after touring flood damage in Texas, he made another eyebrow-raising declaration — this time giving ICE officers sweeping powers to arrest protesters.
“I am directing Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, and Border Czar, Tom Homan, to instruct all ICE, Homeland Security, or any other Law Enforcement Officer who is on the receiving end of thrown rocks, bricks, or any other form of assault, to stop their car, and arrest these SLIMEBALLS, using whatever means is necessary to do so,” Trump posted.
“I am giving Total Authorization for ICE to protect itself, just like they protect the Public. I never want to see a car carrying a Law Enforcement Officer attacked again! AUTHORIZATION IMMEDIATELY GRANTED FOR ARREST AND INCARCERATION.”
Legal experts say Trump’s orders are far outside what ICE is allowed to do — their authority to arrest people is limited, especially when it comes to non-immigration-related crimes.
From calling a private citizen a threat to the nation, to demanding federal agents arrest protesters on the spot, Trump’s latest rant reads more like a dictator’s playbook than the words of a president.
