President Donald Trump on Thursday railed against Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), calling her disloyal in the wake of her public criticism, pointing out all the money he gave her state and saying he would back any candidate opposing her “good or bad.”
Trump was responding to Sen. Murkowski’s praise of former Defense Secretary James Mattis for criticism of Trump’s response to the protests. The Alaska senator also revealed she was “struggling” over whether she will support Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign.
Trump took to Twitter to rant about it.
“Few people know where they’ll be in two years from now, but I do, in the Great State of Alaska (which I love) campaigning against Senator Lisa Murkowski,” Trump tweeted. he added: “Get any candidate ready, good or bad, I don’t care, I’m endorsing. If you have a pulse, I’m with you!”
Twitter users quickly deluged the president in mockery for his threat:
