In a recent social media skirmish, former Republican representative Adam Kinzinger threw shade at Donald Trump, suggesting that people should “wear a mask” when in the ex-president’s presence due to an alleged strong odor.
Taking to Twitter, Kinzinger, a vocal critic of Trump, cryptically stated, “I’m genuinely surprised how people close to Trump haven’t talked about the odor. It’s truly something to behold. Wear a mask if you can.”
The remark quickly ignited a social media frenzy, with users mocking Trump for the purported olfactory offense. Responding to the allegation, a spokesperson for Trump didn’t hold back, hitting back at Kinzinger.
“Adam Kinzinger farted on live TV and is an unemployed fraud. He has disgraced his country and disrespects everyone around him because he is a sad individual who is mad about how his miserable life has turned out.”
While Kinzinger refrained from detailing the specific scent, critics have previously mentioned Trump having a “distinct smell.”
Comedian Kathy Griffin, in an interview with Mary Trump, described it as “like body odor with kind of scented makeup products.”
Griffin, who had a brief encounter with Trump on The Apprentice, shared her observations about the unique smell. “Donald has a distinct smell that doesn’t get enough press,” Ms Griffin said on The Mary Trump Show.
Kinzinger, who served alongside Trump in the House of Representatives, escalated his opposition post the January 6 Capitol attack, eventually joining the House Select Committee to investigate the events. In a 2021 career shift, Kinzinger transitioned to a role as a senior political commentator at CNN after leaving Congress. The ongoing exchange adds an unusual twist to the political discourse, bringing personal hygiene into the spotlight.
