It’s not a political statement to wear a mask during a global pandemic. But Donald Trump made it political when he encouraged his base not to wear one. Many of his followers did exactly what the president told them and refused to wear masks at public events. This just came back to bite them where it hurts the most.

According to reports, law enforcement are finding it easier to identify and arrest the people that stormed the U.S. Capitol due to their refusal to wear a mask.

Trump supporter Richard Barnett was recognized back home in Arkansas as the insurrectionist photographed with his feet on a desk in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office.

Barnett was asked by 5 News if he feared being arrested.

“Am I scared? Hell no. But yeah, there’s a possibility. I didn’t do anything. I didn’t breach the doors. I got shoved in. I didn’t mean to be there. Hell. I was walking around looking for a bathroom,” he argued.

Barnett wasn’t the only one identified from the bunch. In Florida, a man seen carrying Pelosi’s podium was reportedly identified by numerous local residents as Adam Johnson of Parrish.

Jake Angeli, also known as the “Q Shaman” for his role in pushing the QAnon conspiracy theory, was also photographed inside the Capitol.

One Maryland man was identified after being seen wearing a company badge from where he worked. He was fired.
