President Donald Trump claimed President Joe Biden has “stage nine” cancer — a level that doesn’t even exist in medical terms.

When asked Monday at the White House about President Joe Biden’s cancer diagnosis, Trump said, “I think it’s very sad, actually. I’m surprised that it wasn’t, you know, the public wasn’t notified a long time ago. Again, because to get to stage nine, that’s a long time.”

However, there is no such thing as “stage nine” cancer. Cancer staging goes from stage one to stage four, with stage four being the most advanced.

President Biden was diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer. According to NBC News, he found out on Friday, and the public was told the next day. The cancer has spread to his bones.

Prostate cancer often grows slowly. Experts say early detection makes a big difference.

“The survival rate for early-detected prostate cancer is extremely high, with a 5-year relative survival rate of over 99% for localized (Stage I and II) disease,” said the American Cancer Society. “This means that men diagnosed and treated for localized prostate cancer are nearly as likely to live five years after diagnosis as men who have not been diagnosed with cancer.”

Trump didn’t stop at the cancer diagnosis. He also took aim at Biden’s doctor.

“I think that if you take a look, it, the same doctor that said that Joe was cognitively fine,” Trump said. “There was nothing wrong with him. Well, he said, if it’s the same doctor, he said there was nothing wrong there, and that’s being proven to be a sad situation.”
