In his first public address since being arraigned on criminal charges related to his alleged attempt to overturn the 2020 election, former President Trump criticized Republicans for being “weak” and urged them to adopt a more aggressive approach in challenging President Joe Biden.

During a rally in Montgomery, Alabama, Trump made disparaging remarks about Biden, calling him the worst president in history. He also attacked the president’s son, Hunter Biden, whose actions have been under investigation by federal and Congressional authorities for several months.

“If you took the five worst presidents in the history of the United States and added them up, they would not have done near the destruction to our country as crooked Joe Biden and the Biden administration have done,” Trump said.

Trump further asserted that Biden should not be allowed to remain in office and called on Republicans to “fight fire with fire”, adding that the Republicans cannot allow the current situation to persist.

“He shouldn’t be allowed to be the president,” Trump continued. “And the Republicans better get tough and they better get smart because most of them look like a bunch of weak jerks right now. And you got to get tough and smart and you have to fight fire with fire. You can’t allow this to go on.”

At the rally, Trump mainly focused on his criminal charges but appeared dismissive of their gravity, expressing confidence that such indictments would actually boost his popularity in polls. He highlighted his strong position in GOP primary polls, where he garnered approximately 53 percent support, significantly ahead of his closest rival, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
