Donald Trump on Thursday night slammed the House Select Committee for showing evidence of his role in the Jan 6 attack during the panel’s first public hearing about deadly insurrection.
Banned from Twitter, Trump unleashed his anger on his own social media platform, Truth Social, after two hours of prime-time coverage across all of the major networks —except Fox News— lashing out at House investigators for showing “negative footage” of the attack, and not bringing “positive witnesses” to the hearing.
“So the Unselect Committee of political HACKS refuses to play any of the many positive witnesses and statements, refuses to talk of the Election Fraud and Irregularities that took place on a massive scale, and decided to use a documentary maker from Fake News ABC to spin only negative footage,” Trump complained.
Trump did not indicate which positive footage or witnesses he would have liked to see.
The House Jan 6 Panel did show interviews of some of Trump’s closest advisors during his attempted coup, including former Attorney General William Barr, Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, Gen. Mark Milley, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Trump campaign spokesperson Jason Miller. All of them cast a negative view of the former president.
