President Trump ripped James Carville on Friday after the veteran Democratic strategist criticized his approval ratings. Carville appeared on Fox News Thursday night, suggesting that Trump’s numbers were quickly declining.

“I won the Presidential Election in a landslide, won ALL SEVEN SWING STATES, THE POPULAR VOTE, AND ALL FIFTY STATES SHIFTED REPUBLICAN, a record, and now I have the best polling numbers I’ve ever had,” Trump said in a scathing post on Truth Social.

Trump didn’t hold back, slamming Carville and other Democrats as “broken-down losers,” claiming they were “weak of mind and body.” He also criticized the Democrats for not knowing how to handle his growing momentum.

“The Democrats, run by broken-down losers like James Carville, whose weak of mind and body, are going crazy, and just don’t know what to do,” Trump wrote.

Carville, speaking to Sean Hannity, had downplayed the Democrats’ loss in the 2024 election, claiming that despite nominating Vice President Kamala Harris as their candidate, the margin of defeat was close. He urged the Democratic Party not to panic.

“I’m telling the Democrats, just sit there, play possum, let him go, let him go, let him go. Poll numbers are declining. The collapse is already underway. Let’s see when they put the Medicaid budget, when they put the tax — the $4.5 billion — trillion dollars of tax cuts to wealthy people. Just let the ball come to you. We don’t need to be aggressive now,” Carville said.

A CNN poll from this week showed Trump’s approval rating sitting at 47 percent, with 52 percent disapproving of his actions since taking office again. Other polls, including a Reuters/Ipsos survey, indicated a dip in his approval, from around 50 percent a month ago to 44 percent.

While Carville has been quick to criticize the Democrats’ response to Trump’s actions, saying they are overwhelmed, he has also acknowledged the difficulty of fighting back against Trump’s relentless approach.

“Bannon is right. We are flooded in s‑‑‑ and we are searching for a way to deal with this. These are extraordinarily difficult times,” Carville said on the “Politics War Room” podcast. He was quoting former Trump strategist Steve Bannon, who has often said the key to handling the media is to “flood the zone with s‑‑‑.”

Despite the challenges, Carville said Democrats are struggling to respond to Trump, whose political resilience seems to defy expectations. “Things that we thought would kill a political career, would be poisonous for whatever reason, this guy [Trump] keeps chugging along,” Carville remarked.

Trump, undeterred by the criticism, responded with confidence. He boldly claimed that Carville and his party have “lost their minds.”

“They have lost their confidence and spirit – They have lost their minds! We are going to have big WINS for our Country, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN,” Trump wrote.

“It’s already happening, and will get bigger and better than ever before!” he added.
