In a move that’s already stirring outrage across the political spectrum, President Donald Trump has replaced Joe Biden’s official White House portrait with a photograph of an autopen — a mechanical device used to sign documents without the need for a human hand.

This isn’t satire. This is the 2025 White House under Trump.

The change was revealed in a video posted Wednesday on X (formerly Twitter) by Trump’s special assistant, Margo Martin. The video showed off what she described as the “Presidential Walk of Fame” — a gallery of presidential portraits arranged in the colonnade between the West Wing and the Executive Residence.

The lineup features framed black-and-white portraits of recent U.S. presidents, each in a gleaming gold frame. But where Biden’s image should have been, there was something else entirely: a stark, clinical photo of the autopen.

Trump has been railing against Biden’s use of the autopen for years, frequently accusing the 46th president of not actually signing legislation himself — or worse, not being mentally or physically present at all.

He’s even called it, with typical bombast, “one of the greatest scandals of all time.”

The implication is clear — to Trump and his loyalists, Biden didn’t earn his place in the lineup. Instead, a machine gets the honors.

The autopen, a device most Americans hadn’t heard of until it became a right-wing meme, is actually a standard piece of bureaucratic equipment. It’s been used by presidents of both parties for decades to sign routine documents. But in the Trump political circus, even a pen becomes a symbol of alleged fraud, weakness, or deception.

This isn’t just petty trolling. It’s performance politics at its peak.
