Donald Trump’s New Jersey golf course liquor licenses are now at risk as the state attorney general’s office reviews his eligibility following a recent felony conviction.
The New Jersey attorney general’s office is actively investigating whether Trump’s felony convictions disqualify him from holding liquor licenses at his three golf courses in the state.
A spokeswoman for the New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control confirmed to the Associated Press on Monday that they are “reviewing the impact of President Trump’s conviction on the above-referenced licenses” and declined to provide further details.
State regulations specify that individuals convicted of crimes involving “moral turpitude” cannot hold liquor licenses. Last month, a New York jury found Trump guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records, linked to an attempt to cover up a hush money payment to a porn star during his 2016 presidential campaign.
This potential loss of liquor licenses in New Jersey coincides with reports that the NYPD is also considering revoking Trump’s gun license in the aftermath of his conviction.
