Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Wednesday to slam the Wall Street Journal for its coverage of his DEA nominee, Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. The newspaper reported that Chronister had voluntarily withdrawn from consideration for the role, calling it a “setback” for Trump.
However, Trump disagreed with the headline, claiming he was the one who pulled Chronister from the nomination process. “He didn’t pull out, I pulled him out,” Trump wrote, adding that he didn’t like what Chronister had said to his supporters and pastors.
The former president also slammed the Wall Street Journal for its negative coverage, calling the newspaper “more and more obnoxious and unreadable.” He pointed out that, with so many global issues happening, the report about his DEA nominee was the paper’s “top story of the day.”
Trump also expressed frustration with the Wall Street Journal, accusing it of not publishing a positive story about him in years. He took the opportunity to criticize Forbes magazine as well, calling it “stupid” and “China-centric.”
Here’s Trump’s entire post:
“The Wall Street Journal is becoming more and more obnoxious and unreadable. Today’s main headline is: “Trump’s DEA Pick Pulls Out In Latest Setback.” With all that’s happening in the World, this is their Number One story of the day. Besides, he didn’t pull out, I pulled him out, because I did not like what he said to my pastors and other supporters. But, more importantly, what’s my “latest” setback??? I just won the Presidency of the United States! They haven’t written a good story about me in YEARS. Somebody over there ought to look at what they’re doing. The only one worse than them is stupid, China-centric Forbes Magazine!”
Trump’s comments are the latest in his ongoing attacks against media outlets that he believes cover him unfairly.
