Donald Trump is calling his “Big Beautiful Bill” “very popular” among voters — even though the polls say the exact opposite.

Fresh from an Iowa rally, Trump bragged about the bill, saying it brings the “biggest tax cuts in our country’s history.”

He waved off critics and polls showing the bill is deeply unpopular, telling reporters the only poll that matters is a “Democrat poll.” But hard numbers tell a different story. Multiple respected polls show the bill is widely rejected by the public.

CNN shared data from major sources like the Washington Post, Pew Research Center, Fox News, Quinnipiac University, and the Kaiser Family Foundation. Approval ratings are terrible — with negative scores ranging from -19 to -29 percent.

CNN Analyst Harry Enten says five polls show the net approval rating for Trump’s spending bill sits somewhere between -19 and -29 points.

This isn’t just about poll numbers. Even Trump’s former ally Elon Musk blasted the bill this week. Musk called it a “disgusting abomination” full of wasteful spending that will kill millions of American jobs and bury the country in debt.

Musk didn’t hold back, labeling Republicans who backed the bill the “Porky Pig Party” and warning they’re committing political suicide. He even floated the idea of creating a new political party to protect conservative values.

Trump fired back hard, threatening to use federal power against Musk’s companies like Tesla and SpaceX. He hinted that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), once led by Musk, might review or cancel Musk’s federal contracts — and even suggested Musk could face deportation.
