In his latest outburst, Donald Trump demanded the deportation of Special Counsel Jack Smith, labeling him “mentally deranged” and insisting he should be “thrown out of the country.”

Trump’s tirade came on the heels of his legal team’s motion filed with a D.C. court, where they urged Judge Tanya Chutkan to dismiss his January 6 case, claiming that Smith’s appointment was “unconstitutional.”

“We should throw Jack Smith out with the mentally deranged people,” Trump proclaimed. “Jack Smith should be considered mentally deranged, and he should be thrown out of the country.”

On Thursday, Trump’s attorneys submitted a request to dismiss the federal charges stemming from the January 6 Capitol riot, asserting that Smith’s appointment lacks constitutional legitimacy. This argument echoes a previous motion made in Florida, where Trump-appointed judge Aileen Cannon judge dismissed the ex-resident’s federal classified documents case over similar arguments.

Trump is currently facing four felony charges related to his alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election results, to which he has pleaded not guilty.

In their filing, Trump’s legal team argued that the case was fundamentally flawed from the outset, declaring, “This unjust case was dead on arrival — unconstitutional even before its inception.” They contend that Smith was not confirmed by the Senate, making the indictment invalid and calling for an end to the proceedings.

Smith is expected to respond to the motion by October 31, although his team has previously dismissed similar claims.
