Former President Donald Trump, who has been caught lying about topics ranging from the size of the crowd at his 2017 inauguration to the 2020 election being “rigged and stolen” (it wasn’t), claimed on Friday that he is “the most honest and honorable man” in the world a day after being indicted over his hush payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 election.
Taking to his social media sites Trump fired off an all-caps rant against the “politically motivated” investigations into his behavior and claiming that they have nothing on him.
“THEY HAVE CLOSELY STUDIED 11,000,000 PAGES OF DOCUMENTS, FINANCIAL RECORDS, AND TAX RETURNS (SOME GOTTEN ILLEGALLY!), BILLIONS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF DEALS AND TRANSACTIONS, AND THEY’VE GOT NOTHING,” Trump wrote.
He added: “AFTER 8 YEARS OF VARIOUS POLITICALLY MOTIVATED INVESTIGATIONS, HOAXES, SCAMS, AND WITCH HUNTS, THIS MUST MAKE ME THE MOST HONEST AND HONORABLE MAN ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. NOBODY IN HISTORY HAS EVER BEEN THROUGH THE SCRUTINY THAT I HAVE. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”
Trump, who was the first president to be impeached twice, also became the first former president to be criminally charged.
During his presidency, he made 30,573 false or misleading claims, According to The Washington Post’s Fact Checker database.
He told 21 lies a day on average, per The Post.
However, that is not stopping Trump from boldly claiming to be the most honest man to walk on earth.
Last year, he told a crow of supporters in Selma North Carolina: “I think I’m the most honest human being, perhaps, that God ever created.”
His comment sparked ripples of laughter from his supporters.
