Alina Habba, a lawyer for Donald Trump and his future counselor, showered praise on Andrew Tate in a recent interview, declaring that the accused rapist and sex trafficker is “the same” as President-elect Donald Trump.
Tate, who calls himself a “misogynist” and has a large following online, was arrested in Romania in 2023 for charges related to human trafficking, sexual assault, and organized crime. He was arrested again in 2024 on similar charges involving an incident in the UK, which he denies. Disturbing texts, including one in which he allegedly said “I love raping you” to an accuser, have surfaced as part of the investigation.
Habba appeared as a guest on The Benny Show, hosted by Benny Johnson, on January 10, 2025. During the interview, Habba expressed admiration for Tate, emphasizing shared sentiments between him and President Trump.
“I agree with everything you just said,” Habba told Tate, responding to his criticism of the current political climate. “Your anger is the same that President Trump has for our country. It’s time to stop being weak.”
She also compared Tate’s legal battles to those faced by Trump, saying, “You go through a lot of the same ‘show me the person, I’ll find the crime’ that President Trump has gone through.” Habba added that she sympathized with Tate’s struggles, calling them part of a broader pattern of unfair treatment aimed at both men.
Habba continued, criticizing what she described as a failure of the justice system, which she said she had once been proud to be a part of. She pledged her support for Tate, stating, “I got your back out here in the States.”
Tate responded by expressing gratitude for her support, saying, “If I ever get stateside and need a lawyer, I’ll be calling your phone.”
