Gov. Larry Hogan (R-MD) was interviewed this week on Bloomberg TV and revealed that “a couple” of cabinet members in Donald Trump’s Cabinet urged him to run a primary campaign against the president and deny him a re-nomination in 2020.
He added that he doesn’t want to divulge the identities of these Trump officials because he “wouldn’t want to see a couple of friends be fired,” meaning that those secretaries still have jobs in the administration.
Hogan has been one of the few Republicans who have stood up to Trump, especially now during the coronavirus pandemic.
