Donald Trump on Wednesday took to his social media website to claim he’s a victim of vengeful Democrats and to slam Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) for opposing “Trumpy” candidates.
As noted by The New York Times, “a grueling primary season riven by Republican infighting and the interventions of former President Donald J. Trump finally ended on Tuesday with a slate of G.O.P. candidates that has raised Democratic hopes of preserving Senate control and a political atmosphere that has changed strikingly over the past six months.”
Trump began by blaming the “radical-left Democrats” for every ill in the country and for his legal troubles.
“Our Country is being destroyed by the Radical Left Democrats—stock market crash, no southern border, rampant crime, military failure, and much more,” Trump wrote. “Meanwhile, all they want to do is take vengeance on the 45th President, me, and those who support me. We will never back down. Make America Great Again!”
Later, he returned to his website to brag that the “‘Trumpiest’ people all won in New Hampshire last night” before lambasting Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell for supporting Sen. Lisa Murkowski.
“Mitch McConnell is working all out to help the absolutely horrible senator from the great state of Alaska, Lisa Murkowski, rather than fighting for, and helping to finance, the wonderful and very talented Kelly Tshibaka,” Trump ranted. “Murkowski killed everything good for Alaska, including ANWR, a project which would have changed the course of our entire country.”
“Anything Mitch McConnell wants is bad, especially Lisa Murkowski,” Trump wrote before urging his supporters to back Tshibaka.
