President Donald Trump on Monday, called Reps. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) “low-IQ people” and challenged them to take the cognitive tests he completed earlier this year.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump recounted his “secondary” annual physical at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he said he underwent both an MRI and a cognitive test.
“I got an MRI, it was perfect,” Trump said. “Nobody has ever given you reports like I gave you, and if I didn’t think it was going to be good, either, I would let you know negatively. I wouldn’t run, I’d do something. But the doctors said some of the best reports for the age, some of the best reports they’ve ever seen.”
Turning to politics, Trump suggested Crockett and Ocasio-Cortez should take similar exams, questioning their intellectual abilities.
“We have a great group of people, which they don’t,” Trump said. “They have Jasmine Crockett, a low-IQ person. They have- AOC is low IQ.”
“You give her an IQ test. Have her pass, like, the exams that I decided to take when I was at Walter Reed,” he added. “I took — those are very hard — they’re really aptitude tests, I guess, in a certain way.”
Trump described the tests in detail, emphasizing their difficulty. “The first couple of questions are easy. A tiger, an elephant, a giraffe, you know. When you get up to about five or six, and then when you get up to 10 and 20 and 25, they couldn’t come close to answering any of those questions,” he said.
The president’s remarks come after his latest medical evaluation, which he described as a “semiannual physical.” His physician, Sean Barbabella, reported that Trump “continues to demonstrate excellent overall health,” noting that he underwent “advanced imaging, laboratory testing and preventative health assessments” during the visit.
Earlier this year, Barbabella confirmed that Trump was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, “a benign and common condition, particularly in individuals over the age of 70.” Large bruising on the back of Trump’s hands was attributed to “minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin, which is taken as part of a standard cardiovascular prevention regimen.”
