Facing heat from renewed scrutiny over the Epstein files, President Donald Trump is swinging wildly—scrambling to change the narrative by accusing Sen. Adam Schiff of mortgage fraud and demanding his arrest.
In a series of frantic posts on Truth Social, Trump called Schiff a “THIEF” and shared what he claims is proof: a tax document tied to Schiff’s Maryland property.
“Adam Schiff said that his primary residence was in MARYLAND to get a cheaper mortgage and rip off America, when he must LIVE in CALIFORNIA because he was a Congressman from CALIFORNIA,” Trump wrote.
Trump says the fraud started in 2009 when Schiff refinanced his Maryland home. According to Trump, Schiff falsely claimed it was his main home, even though he represented California in Congress. Trump claims this went on for years until the home was finally listed as a second property in 2020.
“The FRAUD began with the refinance of his Maryland property on February 6, 2009, and continued through multiple transactions until the Maryland property was correctly designated as a second home on October 13, 2020,” Trump said.
On Sunday, Trump turned up the heat. He posted a photo of a signed document dated November 4, 2011, which refers to the Maryland house as Schiff’s “principal residence.”
With that post came the all-caps accusation: “Adam Schiff is a THIEF!”
Trump added: “He should be prosecuted, just like they tried to prosecute me, and everyone else — The only difference is, WE WERE TOTALLY INNOCENT, IT WAS ALL A GIANT HOAX!”

Schiff responded earlier in the week, calling the whole thing political revenge.
“This is a weak, false, and desperate attempt to distract from Trump’s own troubles—including the ongoing Epstein files story,” Schiff posted on X. He called the claims a “baseless attempt at political retribution.”
As of now, Schiff hasn’t addressed Trump’s latest post.
