Luigi Mangione, the man accused of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, became irate during his extradition hearing on Tuesday. As he was led into the courtroom in handcuffs, Mangione shouted loudly, “It’s completely out of touch and an insult to the intelligence of the American people. It’s lived experience!”
The meaning behind his outburst remains unclear, and the rest of his statements were drowned out by the commotion. Officers quickly escorted Mangione into the courtroom, where he faces a series of charges related to Thompson’s death.
