Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) aimed to attack Vice President Kamala Harris, but his words instead ignited a firestorm of criticism directed at Donald Trump.

In a recent speech, Vance claimed that the upcoming election is not solely about policies but also about character.

“The most important thing is not that we agree on 100% of the issues, but that we have a person of character and courage under fire in the Oval Office,” he stated, referencing Trump’s supposed resilience through challenges, including two assassination attempts.

In a pointed contrast, Vance labeled Harris “a woman who is so afraid of the American media—the friendly media—that she won’t even do an interview.” Ironically, Harris was in the middle of an interview with MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle at that very moment, exposing Vance’s blatant misrepresentation.

Critics wasted no time in highlighting Vance’s hypocrisy, pointing out his previous scathing remarks about Trump. In a 2016 message, he expressed mixed feelings about Trump, describing him as either a “cynical asshole” reminiscent of Nixon or a dangerous figure akin to “America’s Hitler.” He even referred to Trump as “cultural heroin” in a piece for The Atlantic that year, stating he found Trump “noxious” and believed he was “leading the white working class to a very dark place.”

Fast forward to today, and Vance has performed a complete 180, now attacking women and peddling xenophobic lies alongside Trump. Social media users swiftly called him out, suggesting that his latest comments about “character” might inadvertently endorse Harris.

“JD Vance endorses Kamala Harris,” one user quipped.

Another added, “I’m Kamala Harris, and I approve this message.”

Others didn’t hold back.

“If there’s anything my faith teaches me, it’s that demonizing immigrants seeking safety means that person has high character,” one pointed out.

Another shot back, “It’s like this guy thinks we don’t have eyes and ears and that we suffer from political amnesia.”
