During the “Weekend Update” segment, Colin Jost ribbed former President Donald Trump for unfoundedly implying that President Joe Biden had used cocaine during his State of the Union address.
The co-anchor of “Weekend Update” on “Saturday Night Live” pointed to Trump’s recent interview with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, where Trump suggested, without evidence, that Biden had used cocaine. This insinuation came after Trump referenced cocaine found at the White House last year, despite the Secret Service not identifying any suspects after an investigation.
Jost highlighted Trump’s description of Biden as starting his State of the Union address “all jacked up” and then “fading fast” by the end.
“Huh? It almost sounds like Donald Trump knows exactly what it feels like to be on cocaine. You know, at the beginning, you got a lot of energy,” Jost remarked, accompanied by a clip of Trump energetically dancing to the Village People’s “Y.M.C.A.” during his 2020 campaign. Jost continued, “But then, you’re fading fast,” while showing a clip of Trump’s voice trailing off at a recent rally.
