Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) had an unplanned viral moment on Tuesday when Siri decided to air his business in front of everyone. Graham was seen quietly whispering into his phone — only for Apple’s voice assistant to loudly announce exactly who he was calling.
“Funny moment just now in the Senate: Lindsey Graham whispered something into his phone and then Siri responded with full volume: ‘Calling Sean Hannity mobile,’” Punchbowl News reporter Andrew Desiderio wrote on X.
It was the kind of moment you couldn’t script — and the internet pounced instantly.
“AI could never come up with this,” posted Melissa Angell, policy correspondent at Inc.
“Yet another encapsulation of why we need generational change in Congress,” wrote Mike Raia, president of Half Street Group.
Some users couldn’t resist taking a jab at Graham’s priorities. “For God’s sake. Do your job. Talk to your favorite Dems and broker an end to this!!!” wrote Lynne Ballard, a retired university provost.
Others just laughed. “Lmfao incredibly powerful,” joked Curt Mills, executive director of The American Conservative.
“Flip phone guy still adjusting,” teased Semafor congressional bureau chief Burgess Everett.
“LOL,” chimed in Punchbowl News’ Jake Sherman.
“Extremely boomer coded,” joked Alex C.
And then came the line that captured the collective shrug of the internet: “Wouldn’t expect anything less,” wrote Veterans Against Radical Right.
