Arizona authorities said at least one person has died and many others were injured after a shooting broke out at a strip mall in Phoenix just after 1:00 am on Saturday.
According to local station Fox10, “about 100 people had reportedly gathered for some kind of party when police say a fight broke out between multiple groups.”
The brawl escalated into a series of shootings inside the building, in the parking lot and on the street, police said.
“Many rounds were shot into this crowd of people as they fled the area,” police said.
One woman died from her injuries at the hospital, and two other women are in life-threatening condition. Five men and a teenage boy were also shot, according to the report.
The incident comes as a string of gun violence continues across the nation and one week after the mass shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas that left 19 children and 2 adults dead.
