MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough didn’t hold back on Sunday, revealing what he sees as the unmistakable signal that Republicans are seething with discontent over President Joe Biden’s decision to forego a 2024 reelection bid.
Scarborough pointed to the GOP’s frenzied reactions as “the clearest indication” of how advantageous this development could be for the Democratic Party, he asserted during a discussion with MSNBC colleague Katy Tur.
He highlighted figures like former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and current House Speaker Mike Johnson, who have vehemently criticized Biden’s move as undemocratic. Scarborough, cohost of “Morning Joe,” underscored that Biden’s withdrawal is “the very thing” Donald Trump feared, citing insider sources within Trump’s camp.
Trump has always considered himself as “the ultimate disruptor,” Scarborough noted. But “for the first time, not just in his political life, but the first time in his media life, in his professional life, the disruption is on the other side.”
He continued, “Now, Trump and his campaign team are going to have to respond to this shocking turn of events and they’re not happy about it at all and I think that is why you are seeing a lot of Trump’s acolytes in politics and the media coming out and bitterly complaining about this.”

Echoing his sentiments on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, Scarborough didn’t mince words: “Joe Biden prioritizes country over party, and Republicans go into meltdown mode. It speaks volumes.”
Joe Biden puts country first and Republicans meltdown. What a tell.
