Former White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders made waves at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee Tuesday night with a pointed jab at First Lady Jill Biden, marking a rare instance of GOP criticism aimed at the current administration’s spouse.

Sanders, now Arkansas Governor and a prominent Republican figure, used her speech to reminisce about her time in the Trump administration, particularly recalling a day when she brought her young son to work. Drawing a comparison, she quipped about Jill Biden’s role in the Biden White House, suggesting a playful contrast between her own experience and the First Lady’s influence.

“When I was in President Trump’s White House, I had the opportunity to take my 4-year-old son to ‘Bring Your Kid to Work Day,'” Sanders recounted to enthusiastic applause from the convention floor. “Nowadays, it seems Jill drags Joe to ‘Bring Your Husband to Work Day.’”

The remarks were part of a broader attack from some conservative circles about Jill Biden’s role and the current administration’s leadership amid ongoing discussions about President Biden’s tenure and reelection prospects.

Day 2 of the convention featured a lineup of high-profile Republican speakers, including Senate candidates, House leaders, and figures from Trump’s political orbit. The event’s focus on shaping the party’s future direction included anticipation for upcoming speeches, such as that of Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), who was recently named by Trump as a prospective running mate.
