Rudy Giuliani, former attorney for Donald Trump, has capitulated to cease his baseless accusations against Georgia election workers regarding vote tampering in the 2020 election, as outlined in a draft agreement filed on Tuesday.
In the agreement, obtained by CNN, the disgraced former New York mayor gave up his persistent campaign against Ruby Freeman and her daughter Shaye Moss.
The document imposes a permanent injunction on Giuliani, prohibiting him from making, endorsing, or facilitating any statements insinuating wrongdoing by the plaintiffs in connection to the 2020 presidential election. Furthermore, the agreement grants Freeman and Moss formidable leverage to hold Giuliani accountable for any future defamatory remarks concerning their involvement in the election.
Should Giuliani dare to defy these terms, Freeman and Moss possess the authority to swiftly pursue legal recourse against him. This agreement comes at a dire financial juncture for Giuliani, who finds himself burdened with an exorbitant $148 million debt owed to the aforementioned women due to his dissemination of baseless conspiracy theories.
Despite Giuliani’s fervent attempts to appeal the defamation verdict, his efforts were summarily rejected by US District Court Judge Beryl Howell in April.
Judge Howell derided Giuliani’s arguments as feeble and incapable of swaying the court’s decision.
In the wake of the initial verdict, Giuliani faced severe repercussions, including suspension from WABC Radio, where he hosted a daily show. Undeterred, Giuliani has ventured into a new business endeavor in the coffee industry to alleviate the financial strain imposed by the defamation ruling.
According to sources, the initial batch of coffee bags, personally autographed by Giuliani, is slated for shipment in June. The coffee brand boasts three distinct variations, each accompanied by a slogan: “fighting for justice,” featuring Giuliani in his capacity as US Attorney for the Southern District of New York; “enjoying life,” depicting Giuliani in a casual beach setting; and “America’s mayor,” portraying a beaming Giuliani holding a cup.
