Jack White has gone scorched earth on Donald Trump, torching the former president as a “low life fascist” and a fraud “masquerading as a Christian” in a blistering social media attack that’s shaking up political and music circles alike.
The White Stripes frontman let loose after Trump’s team, including White House Communications Director Steven Cheung, fired off a public insult calling White a “washed up, has-been loser” who is “masquerading as a real artist.”
White didn’t hold back.
“Thank you for giving me my tombstone engraving!” he fired back on Instagram. “Well here’s my opinion, trump is masquerading as a human.”
From there, the gloves were off.
“He’s masquerading as a christian, as a leader, as a person with actual empathy,” White wrote. “He’s been masquerading as a businessman for decades as nothing he’s involved in has prospered except by using other people’s money to find loophole after loophole and grift after grift.”
White also went after Karoline Leavitt, Trump’s Press Secretary, calling both her and Cheung “professional liar toadies” who are “covering up and masking [Trump’s] fascism as patriotism and fomenting hatred and division in this country on a daily basis.”
And he wasn’t done.
“Being insulted by the actual White House that this particular conman leads is a badge of honor to me,” White declared, alongside photos of Trump’s over-the-top decor and political photo ops—including images of Cheung himself.
White ripped into Trump’s record, dragging his ties to Jeffrey Epstein, his failed businesses, his “wimpy and pathetic kowtowing” to dictators Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un, and his efforts to overturn the 2020 election.
He slammed Trump as an “orange grifter” and “professional golf cheat,” saying, “there is no progress with him, only smoke and mirrors and tax breaks for the ultra wealthy.”
White said he’s not speaking as a Democrat or a partisan but as “a human being raised in Detroit.” He admitted he doesn’t “always know all of the facts,” but said staying silent now would be a mistake.
“This man is a danger to not just America but the entire world and that’s not an exaggeration,” he wrote. “He’s dismantling democracy and endangering the planet on a daily basis. I was raised to believe that we defeated fascism in World War II and that we would never allow it again in the world.”
Turning to Trump’s MAGA supporters, White didn’t sugarcoat his message.
“He ain’t spending any money on helping YOU unless you fit into his white supremascist [sic] country club rich idiot agenda,” he said. “Wow, he hates who you hate….good for you, be proud of yourselves, how christian of you all.”
He also mocked Trump’s flashy redesign of the White House, including the now-paved-over Rose Garden and “gaudy a– gold spray painted trinkets,” which helped spark the feud.
White, who supported Bernie Sanders in 2020, ended his takedown with a warning—and a quote from Theodore Roosevelt:
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the president… is morally treasonable to the American public.”
