A video of Fox News host Jeanine Pirro from just before the 2016 election has resurfaced and gone viral on social media, drawing renewed attention to former President Donald Trump’s felony convictions and ongoing legal battles.
In the clip, Pirro vehemently argued that Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton should not be considered for the presidency due to the ongoing investigation into her use of a private email server during her tenure as Secretary of State. Pirro’s comments assert that a candidate under such intense scrutiny could not effectively lead the country.
“We cannot have a country led by a president subject to ongoing criminal investigations, potential indictment, and never-ending hearings,” Pirro declared. “We cannot have a president under that level of scrutiny that inevitably leads to even more questions and more investigations.”
Pirro further stated, “Irrespective of what happens to her, whether she’s indicted or even guilty, it doesn’t matter. Her guilt is a moot point. She cannot take the Oval Office.”
Despite Pirro’s warnings, Clinton was never charged in connection with the email investigation. In contrast, Trump has been convicted of 34 felonies and is awaiting sentencing. He also faces two additional felony trials and a potential indictment in Arizona.
