Alan Ritchson, the star of “Reacher” on Prime Video, isn’t holding back when it comes to President Donald Trump—or the Christians who continue to support him.
“Trump is a rapist and a con man, and yet the entire Christian church seems to treat him like he’s their poster child, and it’s unreal,” Ritchson said in a blunt interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “I don’t understand it.”
Ritchson, who plays the tough, justice-driven Jack Reacher on screen, said his faith still matters deeply to him. But he’s disturbed by how some Christians have twisted what it should stand for.
He says the way many Christians speak and act today has become “vitriolic,” and he can’t square that with the teachings of Christ.
In the same interview, Ritchson also stood by a viral Instagram post from 2020, where he wore a shirt that read: “Arrest the cops who killed Breonna Taylor.”
“That was a tragic case,” he said. “Cops get away with murder all the time, and the fact that we can’t really hold them accountable for their improprieties is disturbing to me.”
He didn’t stop there.
“I mean, you shouldn’t have to spend more time getting an education as a hairstylist than as a cop who’s armed with a deadly weapon.”
Ritchson’s words are a direct hit—aimed not just at the system, but at the hypocrisy he sees in people who claim to follow Jesus while propping up a man he calls a “rapist and a con man.”
