Republican Sen. Rand Paul, of Kentucky, has called for the Manhattan District Attorney to be “put in jail” as New York prosecutors probe hush-money payments made by Trump to adult film star Stormy Daniels with campaign funds.
“A Trump indictment would be a disgusting abuse of power. The DA should be put in jail,” Paul tweeted.
Trump has attacked Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and the district attorney’s office as “racists” and “Marxists” — and called on his supporters to protest, which sparked worries about how his violent base could respond.
Barricades were seen being unloaded outside the Manhattan Criminal Court ahead of a possible arrest of the former president.
Meanwhile, Bragg assured his office over the weekend that threats and intimidation against the office and the rule of law in New York won’t be tolerated.
