On Monday, actress Kirstie Alley, the star of the shows “Cheers” and “Drop Dead Gorgeous,” passed away unexpectedly. She was 71. The cause of death was later revealed to be colon cancer. But it didn’t take long for QAnon wackos to offer an alternative explanation: that she was somehow murdered because she happened to be anti-vax.
Alley’s death was confirmed in a statement from her children True and Lillie Parker that was posted on social media Monday night. “We are sad to inform you that our incredible, fierce and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, only recently discovered,” they said.
But QAnon fanatics claim that Alley “was possibly murdered because of her outspoken criticism of the COVID-19 vaccines. That, or she was forcibly given one and it killed her,” VICE reports, pointing to the flood of message boards with tall tales of mysterious figures poisoning the actress as part of a global plot to silence critics of COVID-19 vaccines.
“Smells fishy,” a prominent QAnon group wrote on Telegram, per VICE. “She’d been asking a lot of questions about official narratives. Funny thing, these fast acting cancers and celebs that don’t fall in line.”
“I wholly believe the [deep state] has a way of dosing people with poisons that create aggressive cancers,” one person wrote.
Another went further, writing, “She either just drew the short straw or she was poisoned by the Deep State for being a public Patriot.”
Some speculated that, because Alley had recently joined the cast of The Masked Singer, she had been forced to get vaxxed.
Others offered another out-there theory: that she had to get jabbed to receive treatment for her colon cancer. Others still wondered if it had anything to do with her long-held belief in Scientology.
And of course, as noted by VICE, they would not ignore the numbers. “QAnon followers zeroed in on the fact that the actor was 71 when she died, which in the world of QAnon was seen as a sign because it is a mirror of the number 17—Q is the 17th letter of the alphabet, and very important number amongst the QAnon crowd.
