Poll Wreck: Trump Takes a Beating Across the Board

“Donald Trump just got torched in a new poll, and there’s no spinning it. The American people are fed up with what they see as his incompetence — and the numbers show it.

In a Washington Post-Ipsos poll that took the nation’s political temperature across six major issues, Trump was slapped with double-digit disapproval margins across the board. Not one of the issues cracked 50 percent approval. In fact, most didn’t even come close.

Sitting at the very bottom of the list: Trump’s much-hyped tariffs. Only 34 percent of Americans support them, while 64 percent disapprove. That’s a gut punch for a policy that’s driven up prices on everything from electronics to everyday household goods. Tariffs were supposed to bring jobs back and punish foreign adversaries. Instead, they’ve hit American wallets — hard.

His foreign policy isn’t faring any better. Trump’s handling of the Russia-Ukraine war earned him just 38 percent approval, despite his repeated vow to end the war. People clearly aren’t buying it. And why should they? The war is still dragging on, with no end in sight — and no real plan from Trump.

Even on the economy, an issue Trump has long claimed as his strong suit, voters are backing away. Just 40 percent approve of his economic management. The rest? They’re frustrated with stubborn inflation, rising costs, and what they see as Trump’s endless pressure campaign on the Federal Reserve to slash rates — a move many fear would overheat the economy or signal panic, not strength.

The only slight glimmer of good news for Trump came on immigration and crime — two issues where he’s pounded the podium for years. But even there, approval only barely ticked up to 44 percent. For a president who’s made “law and order” and border crackdowns central to his political identity, that’s hardly a ringing endorsement.

This poll isn’t just bad — it’s a warning flare. With 2,513 Americans weighing in, it’s a snapshot of a country that isn’t just divided, but increasingly skeptical of Trump’s ability to deliver.
