Elon Musk made an unusual appearance at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) near Washington, D.C. on Thursday, leaving many people wondering if he was under the influence of something or just acting strangely.

Musk alarmed onlookers by showing up holding a chainsaw and wearing sunglasses. During an interview, he told the crowd, “My mind is a storm,” which seemed to confuse many watching.

A lot of critics questioned his behavior and mental state.

“Elon can barely form a sentence right now,” said journalist Aaron Rupar, sharing a video of Musk on X.

“Hard to argue with him,” commented legal analyst Ken White, adding sarcasm to the moment. White had once been suspended from Twitter for sharing threats but was later reinstated.

Comedian Gabe Sanchez joked, “POV: you just took a s–t ton of ketamine and went on stage.”

Political commentator Keith Olbermann said, “Uncontrollable vowel movements,” referring to Musk’s speech.

Dr. Danielle Lupton also suggested, “He sounds very much under the influence.”

Legal analyst Jennifer Taub quipped, “Kleptocratic ketamine addict,” referring to Musk’s behavior in a sarcastic manner.

Adam A. Jacoby, founder of MiVote, made an unusual comparison: “Elon Musk is the Nick Nolte of Joseph Goebbels.”

Melanie D’Arrigo, director of the New York Health Campaign, pointed out the irony: “The same guy running around the stage with a chainsaw and unable to complete a sentence wants to put his microchips in people’s brains.”

Jezebel writer Kylie Cheung expressed frustration, writing, “I don’t care for his health or well-being, I’d love if something awful happened to him, but we’re in a scary place where he’s alive and functional enough to take a wrecking ball through everything, just clearly insane and removed from reality and making it all our problem.”

Rupar summed up the moment with a critical remark: “Wearing sunglasses inside and following an event where he at times had a hard time speaking coherently, Elon Musk walks off the CPAC stage waving around a chainsaw. This is the guy currently running our government. Congrats, America!”
