As U.S. senators push for an investigation into the Signal chat scandal, Attorney General Pam Bondi made it clear she’s not interested in looking into it. Instead, she suggested the focus should shift to Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden, who’ve already been the subjects of major investigations.
Bondi addressed the issue during a news conference in Virginia, where she confirmed that Trump administration officials did discuss sensitive plans in the Signal group chat. The chat included top officials who debated strategies to attack Houthi rebels. However, Bondi claimed no classified information was involved.
“Well, first, it was sensitive information, not classified, and inadvertently released,” Bondi said. “And what we should be talking about is it was a very successful mission. Our world is now safer because of that mission. We’re not going to comment any further on that.”
Rather than focusing on the Signal scandal, Bondi quickly shifted the conversation to two Democrats—Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden. She brought up their past investigations over alleged mishandling of classified information, implying that those issues were more worthy of attention, despite the fact that they had already been thoroughly investigated.
Bondi specifically targeted Clinton, who has been a frequent target of Republicans for using a private email server for government business.
“If you want to talk about classified information, talk about what was at Hillary Clinton’s home that she was trying to [wipe],” Bondi said.
Clinton wasted no time responding. In a statement, she called out Bondi’s remarks as “staggering hypocrisy,” and added that such behavior endangered the lives of military personnel.
“The hypocrisy is staggering,” Clinton said. “But worse, the arrogance and incompetence puts the lives of our military men and women in danger.”

Q: “In terms of the Signal chat controversy…is the DOJ involved at this point?”
