Former President Barack Obama urged Georgia residents to make sure they are registered to vote in the state’s Senate runoff and stressed how crucial it is for Democrats to regain the lead in the chamber.
During his speech, Obama noted how Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has halted the process that was being made under the Obama administration when Democrats controlled the Senate.
The former president said the following: “If the Senate is controlled by Republicans who are interested in obstruction and gridlock rather than progress in helping people, they can block just about anything…once Mitch McConnell was controlling that gavel and agenda in the Senate, we saw a lot of progress halt.”
