Sean “Diddy” Combs’ problems continue to mount with the filing of yet another sexual assault lawsuit against him, adding to a growing list of allegations that have increasingly placed the American rapper under intense scrutiny for his treatment of women.
Former model Crystal McKinney has come forward, alleging that Combs forced her to perform oral sex at a party in 2003. She claims the assault occurred after she was “pressured to imbibe” alcohol and marijuana, including a joint she suspected was laced with another narcotic.
This latest lawsuit joins several others accusing Combs of being a violent sexual predator who used alcohol and drugs to subdue his victims. Earlier this year, his homes were raided by federal agents in connection with these allegations.
Despite his previous denials of such accusations, Combs has remained silent on this new claim. Compounding his troubles, last week he issued a public apology following the release of a video showing him physically assaulting his then-girlfriend Casandra Ventura in 2016. The footage, published by CNN, depicts Combs hitting, dragging, and kicking Ventura, who recently accused him of over a decade of coercion through physical force and drugs, culminating in a rape in 2018.
Ventura’s lawsuit, filed last fall and settled out of court, has sparked a series of similarly lurid sexual assault claims against Combs. McKinney’s suit references Ventura’s case and four others in New York, expressing her “moral obligation to speak up” after seeing the other lawsuits.
McKinney’s lawsuit highlights her ongoing trauma, stating, “To this day, Plaintiff experiences bouts of depression, anxiety, body image issues, feelings of worthlessness and intimacy issues because of Combs’s assault,” and accusing the rapper of using his influence to stifle her career.
