House Speaker Nancy Pelosi slammed Donald Trump on Thursday, saying that the president “knows he’s crazy” and is projecting when it comes to his mental health.
“I have no interest in what he calls people, because he’s always projecting,” the Speaker of The House said during an interview published by Elle Magazine on Thursday.
“He knows he’s crazy; it’s so self-evident. Everything he calls anybody — ‘lazy,’ ‘crazy.’ Quite frankly, I don’t pay that much attention to him,” Pelosi told the publication.
“I think it’s really a sad, sick situation,” the California Democrat added.
Trump and Pelosi have frequently traded insults at one another, with Trump repeatedly using the term “crazy” to attack the Speaker, particularly in the wake of the House’s move to impeach him last winter.
During the interview, Pelosi, who the magazine described as “barely on speaking terms” with the president, said Trump isn’t top of mind for her.
“I don’t even think about him, to tell you the truth,” she said.
“This is the most conversation I’ve had about him, certainly all day,” she said.
