At least 13 people were reportedly shot after a mass shooting sent commuters scrambling for their safety at 36th Street and Fourth Avenue, local CBS affiliate WCBS reported Tuesday morning.
Citing a statement from the NYPD, the outlet also reported that unexploded devices were discovered at the scene of the shooting.
The situation began developing around 8:45 a.m. according to the station.
the NYPD said that the fact that explosive devices were found indicates the incident was planned.
The shooter was wearing a gas mask and was dressed like a construction worker, police said.
