Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, of Georgia, was one of several speakers at a Donald Trump rally in Warren, Michigan on Saturday. The QAnon evangelist spoke for more than twenty minutes, lashing out at her political enemies and accusing Democrats of “killing Republicans” and waging political war on “the greatest president” in the nation’s history.
During her comparative speech, Greene led a crowd chant of “lock her up” as she attacked Michigan Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer over social distancing policies imposed during the COVIV-19 pandemic.
She also attacked House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, and California Gov. Gavin Newsom.
The controversial Republican then called for jailing doctors for gender reassignment surgeries and suggested Republicans are being persecuted while transgender Americans are the “most protected class.”
She also told the crowd that “Democrats have waged war against the greatest president this country has ever had,” in reference to Donald Trump.
Greene has been criticized over social media posts advocating violence against Democrats and indicating support for executing prominent Democratic politicians.
In one speech promoting her call to impeach the House speaker, Greene suggested Pelosi could be executed for treason citing the Democrat’s support of so-called sanctuary policies that “are serving illegals and not United States citizens,” and because Pelosi did not support then-President Donald Trump’s border wall.
“She’s a traitor to our country. She’s guilty of treason,” Greene says in the video, which she posted on Facebook at the time, before the video was removed. “She took an oath to protect American citizens and uphold our laws. And she gives aid and comfort to our enemies who illegally invade our land. That’s what treason is. And by our law representatives and senators can be kicked out and no longer serve in our government. And it’s, uh, it’s a crime punishable by death is what treason is. Nancy Pelosi is guilty of treason.”
