Joe Scarborough didn’t hold back on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Monday, delivering a blistering critique of the media’s treatment of Vice President Kamala Harris compared to GOP nominee Donald Trump.
Scarborough branded a new smear against Harris as an “absolute lie,” rejecting the ridiculous notion that both candidates are on equal footing in this election cycle. He targeted the likes of The New York Times’ Bret Stephens and The Wall Street Journal’s Daniel Henninger for pushing the narrative that Harris is out of touch on policy and only regurgitates her life story.
With sharp montages, Scarborough demonstrated the stark contrast between Harris’s substantive policy discussions—covering tax relief for startups and first-time homeowners—and Trump’s incoherent ramblings that dodge simple questions. “To claim that Harris is solely focused on her background is a blatant fabrication,” he asserted.
Drawing on his own experience as a former GOP congressman, Scarborough highlighted how politicians have always shared personal stories to illuminate their policies. “Nobody ever mocked me for discussing my background and its influence on my views,” he recalled. “But now, as we approach the election, these anti-anti-Trumpers are scrambling to justify their support for a man who attempted to dismantle our democracy on January 6.”
He unleashed a barrage of disqualifying moments from Trump’s past, asking, “Are we really going to ignore the facts? They nitpick Harris’s Philadelphia interview while conveniently overlooking the chaos that Trump has instigated.”
Scarborough’s outrage was palpable as he proclaimed, “This false equivalency is absolutely insane. Do you have no shame? Do you really have no shame?”
