During an interview with DeJour magazine, Melania Trump declared that she possesses more than just looks, stating, “I’m not only a beauty, I’m intelligent, smart, and have brains!”
Mrs. Trump’s remarks came after she was asked about comments made by former MSNBC host Chris Matthews about her appearance during the 2016 campaign. She simply brushed off as typical male behavior.
The former first lady expressed her surprise at Matthews’ giddy remarks about her looks. She said that being married to a successful man like Donald Trump requires someone who can provide honest advice and display intelligence in making policy decisions.
“Unbelievable. That’s what I’m saying!” Melania said. “I’m not only a beauty, I’m smart. I have brains. I’m intelligent. I would just say, men will be men.”
In the same interview, Melania shares a humorous anecdote about pop star Michael Jackson suggesting they fake a kiss to make Trump jealous, but both of them found it amusing and laughed it off.
Melania has bragged her beauty in the past, boasting that it’s a reason her husband is with her. Nonetheless, she firmly believes that her intelligence and capabilities go beyond her appearance.
