As the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection prepares to hold its next public hearing “to present recently obtained evidence and receive witness testimony,” CBS News congressional correspondent Scott MacFarlane is reporting that a former aide to Donald Trump’s chief of staff Mark Meadows will testify to provide new insight into efforts to overturn the former president’s election loss in Georgia.
The aide, Cassidy Hutchinson, has already been interviewed by the House Select Committee. During her 20+ hours of testimony, Hutchinson provided a wealth of evidence, including Maddow’s travel activities to Georgia after the November 2020 election, MacFarlane reported.
